THE BIO

Ashley Wilburn is a native of Hagerstown in Maryland. She graduated from North Hagerstown High School where she completed her secondary education. Ashley Wilburn's legal career is centered around family law. She has a love for it. She focuses the majority of her practice in divorce cases, alimony disputes marital property distribution and child custody battles. child support arrangements, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, post-divorce enforcement and issues, step-parent and private party adoptions and issues involving children's welfare. Ashley has served as a mediator appointed by a court since the year helping parties to help them resolve their disputes without the needing to litigate or court involvement. In addition to mediations that are court-appointed, Ashley also mediates in private matters for those who wish to avoid the litigation and court process.

Ashley completed her undergraduate studies in History and Politics at Loyola University of Maryland. Then, she pursued her legal education at Western New England University School of Law. After graduating in 2013, she excelled academically, securing a spot among the top 10 students in her class. During her time in law school, Ashley served as a Note Editor for the prestigious Western New England Law Review and demonstrated her dedication to legal research and scholarship.

After completing her law degree, Ashley embarked on a clerkship program, working with prominent jurists in Connecticut and Maryland. She was fortunate to serve as a law assistant for the Honorable Richard A. Robinson at the Connecticut Appellate Court and the Honorable Elliott D. Prescott. Then, in 2014, she returned to her hometown of Hagerstown to work as a clerk for the Honorable M. Ashley joined Poole & Kane P.A. in 2015 as an associate attorney. as an associate attorney. The primary goal of the firm was to represent the Washington County Department of Social Services in cases dealing with child welfare. Ashley's dedication to her work were instrumental in helping children who were victims of abuse or negligence at the hands their parents or caregivers. Her commitment to social injustice went beyond her legal profession when she was an active member of the Washington County Human Trafficking Task Force. She worked tirelessly to increase awareness about human trafficking within the tri-state region.

In 2017, she became a founding member of Kane, Wilburn & Stone, P.A., where she developed her practice in the fields of family law such as divorce, child support, custody and guardianships - as well as estate planning - wills, trusts and powers of attorney, advance directives/healthcare proxy - and mediation.

Ashley started Wilburn Law Office, LLC in 2023. Ashley founded Wilburn Law Office, LLC with an intention to provide an individual approach to each client's needs.
